The Possibility of Peace - Maharaji

Maharaji in MilanIn this address to an audience of more than 3,000, Maharaji speaks of the need for peace. This need, he says, is like water to the desert, wind to a sailboat, flowing to a river. Just like the moon needs the sun to shine, we need peace in our lives. Peace, he says, has nothing to do with war, and war has nothing to do with peace. It is not the absence of one thing, he says, that creates the presence of another. The possibility to be fulfilled exists, says Maharaji, and we owe it to ourselves: we must have peace in our life.

Maharaji'’s message hailed as “unique”by Chief Executive of Universal Forum of Cultures

Barcelona, Spain, June 15. On June 14, Prem Rawat, known also as Maharaji, addressed an audience of more than 2,000 at an event endorsed by the Universal Forum of Cultures. The Forum, expected to attract 5 million visitors over 141 days, promotes three themes: cultural diversity, sustainable development, conditions for peace. Attended by many world leaders, it consists of conferences and congresses and is geared toward reflection.

The Forum promoted Prem Rawat’s visit as an “associated event,” a coveted label reserved for events directly related to a core theme of the Forum.

Introducing him, Dr. Pages, Chief Executive Officer of the Forum, declared: “Prem Rawat’s message is unique: he talks about peace from a human perspective and highlights the importance for every single human being to create the necessary conditions for peace in the world.” For Linda Pascotto, President of The Prem Rawat Foundation: “Prem Rawat is a leading voice for peace and we are pleased that the Forum, which seeks to establish a culture of peace throughout the world, decided to join forces with him.”

The principles and values of the Forum are based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and United Nations program principles. Forum organizers intend to disseminate UN principles through associated initiatives like the event with Prem Rawat.

At the United Nations Conference Center in Bangkok, Thailand, he expressed, “Peace needs to be in everyone’s life. There is one thing we have never given a chance. That one thing is peace. The peace that we are looking for is within. It is in the heart, waiting to be felt. It is not the world that needs peace; it is people. When people in the world are at peace within, the world will be at peace. What I offer people is not just talk,” he says, “but a way to go inside and savor the peace that is within.”

The dissemination of his message in 88 countries and 70 languages is supported by voluntary contributions and the sale of related materials. He supports himself and his family through independent means.

Maharaji - "The Joy of Being Alive

MaharajiDuring an address to an audience of more than 6,500 people, Maharaji speaks of a peace that already lies within each person. The idea that peace is within, he says, has become alien, and the idea that the answers we look for on the outside are within has also become alien. Wherever we are in this life, he says, we carry a huge box within that is full of joy, and it is possible to get in touch with it. This joy, he says, is the joy of existence-not the joy of what is happening in existence, but the simple joy of being alive.

Maharaji - A Life Complete

MaharajiAddressing an audience of more than 6,500 during a two-day event, Maharaji speaks of the breath that, he says, "comes into you heralding the possibility of immeasurable joy." He then speaks of this "you", which allows a person to be everything they are and will be. He points to this "you" as a key ingredient missing in the world's formula for happiness. He says that a person's responsibility is first and foremost to this "you" and to what you have been given. To recognize what has been given, he says, is the first step to having a life complete.
