The Prem Rawat Foundation Holds Successful FundraiserLOS ANGELES, Jan. 31 – The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF) has held a special fundraising event that included an auction of works of art gifted to the Foundation by Prem Rawat. In total, the event raised more than $700,000, which will be used to further the efforts of TPRF, including supporting its humanitarian and philanthropic activities on a continuing basis.

All auctioned properties were gifted to the Foundation by Prem Rawat, also known as Maharaji, who made a financial donation as well and personally attended the event.

Shortly after the auction, Prem Rawat held a highly successful three-day event in Los Angeles, attended by more than 5,000 people who had traveled from 54 countries to hear his message of peace.

TPRF has raised more than $150,000 for victims of the tsunami and is using these donations to distribute daily food aid to tsunami survivors in Sri Lanka. TPRF regularly holds free medical clinics in northern India and recently sent batteryless flashlights to hurricane victims in Grenada. TPRF has made substantial donations of rice to refugees in war-torn Ivory Coast and recently gave a grant to Healing the Children, a nonprofit organization arranging for free surgery for children most in need.

Prem Rawat's message is simple and profound. Speaking at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok, Thailand, he expressed: "Peace needs to be in everyone's life. The peace we are looking for is within. It is in the heart, waiting to be felt, and I can help you get in touch with it. It is not the world that needs peace; it is people. When people in the world are at peace within, the world will be at peace."

Prem Rawat has presented his message to millions of people in over 250 cities and 50 countries around the world. The dissemination of his message is entirely supported by voluntary contributions and the sale of related materials. He supports himself and his family through independent means.

The Prem Rawat Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity that promotes the message of peace of Prem Rawat and helps improve the quality of life for people most in need.

Maharaji's message hailed as “truly remarkable” by Deputy Director of IIT DelhiNew Delhi, November 8--On November 4, Maharaji was invited by the National Resource Centre for Value Education in Engineering to address an audience of faculty, guests and students at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

NCVEE aims to integrate science, technology and human values in education so that the proper blend of knowledge and wisdom can be offered to students.

IIT Delhi is one of seven Institutes of Technology in India. Business Week calls IIT alumni the "hottest export from India."

IITs have produced the likes of Victor Menezes, vice-chairman of Citibank; Rajat Gupta, managing director of McKinsey; Vinod Khosla, General Partner at the leading Silicon Valley venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers; US Airways chief Rakesh Gangwal; Nandan Nilekani, CEO of Infosys; and many others.

Welcoming Maharaji, the Deputy Director of IIT said: “ I would like to thank Maharaji profusely for kindly accepting our invitation. We are glad that NCRCEE has chosen to arrange this event as a part of its distinguished lecture series. PR speaks on a theme which is individually as well as globally very vital and his approach is also very unique and fundamental. I observed that he brings a message that it is every individual’s birthright to experience peace in this lifetime. He asserts that peace needs to be in everyone’s life. The peace we are looking is within, he says, it is in the heart, waiting to be felt and he can help people getting touch with it. He asserts that in addition to fulfilling our obligations to society we have an obligation to fulfill our ultimate obligation, which is to ourself, and to finding fulfillment in this lifetime. This message is truly remarkable in that it does not put the responsibility for peace on institutions or on other but on each individual. Maharaji has providing inspiration and guidance on this topic for decades and has received much acclaim throughout the world.”

The event at IIT Delhi marks the beginning of a tour of India. On November 7, Maharaji addressed an audience of more than 100,000 in Mehrauli, near New Delhi.
