United Nations’ Kofi Annan sends best wishes for event with Prem RawatKuala Lumpur, April 25 — Responding to an invitation from the United Nations Association of Malaysia in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme, Prem Rawat, known also as Maharaji, addressed a distinguished audience which included members of Royal families, ambassadors, cabinet ministers, and members of the Asian media. Welcoming the guests, Datuk Dr. Ian Chia, Secretary General of the United Nations Association of Malaysia, former President of the Malaysian Institute of Directors, and Vice-Chairman of the Malaysian Institute of Management, declared: “It is indeed an honor to introduce such a distinguished man. Prem Rawat speaks about peace from the heart. He inspires and guides people to find peace from within and offers a simple yet profound message of peace.”

Introducing Prem Rawat, Tengku Ahmad Rithauddeen, President of the United Nations Association of Malaysia, former Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Defense and Information, and currently Chairman of the Ethics Committee of the United Malays National Organization, Malaysia’s ruling party, said: “Prem Rawat is an international speaker acknowledged for his profound message of peace, particularly inner peace and self-fulfillment. We at the United Nations Association of Malaysia and the United Nations Development Programme see his message as a true reflection of the hopes, aspirations, and ideals of the United Nations, whose aim is international peace and security. Prior to Prem Rawat’s address, Tengku Ahmad Rithauddeen read a special message sent by the United Nations’ Secretary General Kofi A. Annan to the organizers and participants of this special event with Prem Rawat. Kofi Annan’s message ended with: “Historic, fundamental progress is possible. But it will depend on the will of governments and on the engagement of groups and citizens such as you. In that spirit, I wish you all the best for a successful event.”

This event marks the beginning of a tour of the North Pacific for Prem Rawat. Over the next weeks, he will address audiences in Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, and Malaysia.

More Than 1.5 Million People Seek Prem Rawat's Inspiration and Guidance
NEW DELHI, India, April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Between February 19 and April 11, Prem Rawat, known also as Maharaji, held 22 events in 11 locations throughout the Indian subcontinent. During this time, a total of more than 1.5M people came to seek his inspiration and guidance.

Some of the events attracted record-breaking audiences even by Indian standards: more than 375,000 people attended the event in Kanpur, an industrial center in northern India, and more than 325,000 people attended the event in Gaya, a city in the state of Bihar.

Additionally, an event with Prem Rawat in Delhi on March 27 was broadcast throughout India to more than 1,500 locations, where more than 500,000 people had gathered to hear his message of peace.

In February, Prem Rawat attended an event at the Indian Institute of Technology in New Delhi, where he addressed a capacity crowd of faculty, students, and guests. He later addressed a distinguished audience of civic, government, and business leaders at the invitation of Rotary International, at the National Centre for Performing Arts in Mumbai.

Linda Pascotto, President of The Prem Rawat Foundation, said, "This record-breaking tour shows that Prem Rawat's message is receiving rapidly increasing interest. The size of the audiences that his message attracts in India is limited only by his availability. He has received invitations from dozens of cities throughout the country, and this tour could have continued throughout the year. In two weeks, he will start speaking at events in the North Pacific, and later in Europe, North America, and the South Pacific.

"We are also thrilled that Prem Rawat was able to attend an event in Sri Lanka for the first time in 23 years. The hostilities that have disrupted this once peaceful island for the last twenty years have now diminished, and people interested in Prem Rawat's message of peace were able to attend the event safely. Many people in the audience had lost family members in the recent tsunami and found great comfort in hearing his words. A number of people who attended are also involved in helping to further the food aid initiative that the Foundation is currently heading on this island in collaboration with Jeevashakthi Society Ltd., a reputable local nonprofit organization, and we are grateful for their generous support."
