The Prem Rawat Foundation to provide relief to victims of Hurricane Katrina
Hurricane Katrina devastation
TPRF, the organization through which Prem Rawat spearheads significant humanitarian initiatives, responded promptly after Hurricane Katrina hit the United States' Gulf Coast. Within a few days the TPRF website made it possible for people to contribute to this important initiative, and TPRF volunteers were assessing how to best use these contributions. For Linda Pascotto, President: "Our heart goes out to the victims of this terrible tragedy. While no amount of material aid can make up for the losses that many people have suffered, we can help bring some dignity to their living conditions. From the moment we opened up the TPRF site for donations to help Hurricane Katrina victims, contributions have been pouring in. This indicates that, with each new humanitarian initiative we launch, a growing number of people, whether or not they are familiar with Prem Rawat's message, express trust in the Foundation and in its ability to find the best possible ways for their donations to reach those in need. We are now analyzing a number of possibilities in order to allow these generous contributions to have a strong, healing impact in the field and to make a real difference. In the weeks ahead, we will provide updates on the progress of this initiative."

Your contributions, small and large, are much appreciated.

Leading Thai University Welcomes MaharajiBangkok, Thailand, May 17Prem Rawat, known also as Maharaji, was invited by leaders of Thammassat University, a leading Thai institution of higher education, to address a capacity audience of civic, government, and academic leaders. Founded in 1934, Thammassat has educated many prominent members of the Thai government and administration.

The guests were welcomed by Manu Leopairote, President of the Economic Faculty Alumni Association of Thammasat, Permanent Secretary of the Thai Ministry of Industry, and Chairman of the Thailand Petroleum Authority. Mr. Leopairote is also Director for Thailand of the Asian Productivity Organization, a nonpolitical, nonprofit, intergovernmental organization contributing to the socioeconomic development of Asia and the Pacific by enhancing productivity.

Mr. Leopairote said: “Thammasat University has a long history of providing a forum for different voices with a significant message that, each in their own way, helps people live happier, more prosperous lives. In line with this long tradition, we are gathered tonight to hear from Prem Rawat. He travels the world bringing people a unique message of hope and peace, which deserves to be heard with great attention. We are pleased that he accepted our invitation.”

Prem Rawat was then introduced by Professor Dr. Surapon Nitikraipot, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Rector of Thammasat University, and President of the Alumni Association. A professor of law, he is regarded as one of Thailand’s sharpest legal minds on public issues and has helped Thammasat become a voice of public conscience. Professor Surapon has served as a member of several committees in the Prime Minister’s Office, modernizing Thai law and developing the legal infrastructure.

Professor Surapon said: “Throughout time, leading thinkers, academicians, and government leaders have attempted to develop an understanding of how to build peace. Many approaches have been explored, all attempting to create favorable conditions for peace. These solutions have drawn from economics, history, international law, comparative peace studies, conflict resolution, political science, sociology, anthropology, and more. Prem Rawat’s message of peace is rooted in the need for each person to find peace within themselves. He emphasizes that whether our search is for world peace or for personal peace, we very much need to look at the search for peace as a personal quest, rooted in an understanding of who we are. ‘When people in the world are at peace,’ he says, ‘the world will be at peace.’”

More Than 1.5 Million People Seek Prem Rawat's Inspiration and Guidance
NEW DELHI, India, April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Between February 19 and April 11, Prem Rawat, known also as Maharaji, held 22 events in 11 locations throughout the Indian subcontinent. During this time, a total of more than 1.5M people came to seek his inspiration and guidance.

Some of the events attracted record-breaking audiences even by Indian standards: more than 375,000 people attended the event in Kanpur, an industrial center in northern India, and more than 325,000 people attended the event in Gaya, a city in the state of Bihar.

Additionally, an event with Prem Rawat in Delhi on March 27 was broadcast throughout India to more than 1,500 locations, where more than 500,000 people had gathered to hear his message of peace.

In February, Prem Rawat attended an event at the Indian Institute of Technology in New Delhi, where he addressed a capacity crowd of faculty, students, and guests. He later addressed a distinguished audience of civic, government, and business leaders at the invitation of Rotary International, at the National Centre for Performing Arts in Mumbai.

Linda Pascotto, President of The Prem Rawat Foundation, said, "This record-breaking tour shows that Prem Rawat's message is receiving rapidly increasing interest. The size of the audiences that his message attracts in India is limited only by his availability. He has received invitations from dozens of cities throughout the country, and this tour could have continued throughout the year. In two weeks, he will start speaking at events in the North Pacific, and later in Europe, North America, and the South Pacific.

"We are also thrilled that Prem Rawat was able to attend an event in Sri Lanka for the first time in 23 years. The hostilities that have disrupted this once peaceful island for the last twenty years have now diminished, and people interested in Prem Rawat's message of peace were able to attend the event safely. Many people in the audience had lost family members in the recent tsunami and found great comfort in hearing his words. A number of people who attended are also involved in helping to further the food aid initiative that the Foundation is currently heading on this island in collaboration with Jeevashakthi Society Ltd., a reputable local nonprofit organization, and we are grateful for their generous support."

The Prem Rawat Foundation donates $150,000 to World Food ProgrammeRome, Italy, February 7 — Today in the Italian senate, President Emilio Colombo, former Prime Minister of Italy, former President of the European Parliament and a lifetime Senator, hosted a ceremony during which Prem Rawat, founder of The Prem Rawat Foundation, handed a check for $150,000 to Francesco Strippoli, Senior Advisor to the Executive Director of the World Food Programme, to help WFP in its effort to bring food aid to people in Indonesia. For Mr. Strippoli: “This donation from The Prem Rawat Foundation helps fill a very real need. For the millions of people whose lives have been shattered by the tsunami, the crisis is far from over. This generous donation will help people rebuild their lives and give them hope for the future.”In addition to promoting the message of peace of Prem Rawat, also known as Maharaji, the Foundation is already distributing food aid in Sri Lanka and regularly holds free medical clinics in India. For Linda Pascotto, President of the Foundation, who attended the ceremony: “We are pleased that Prem Rawat can present today, via his Foundation, this contribution which comes from him personally and from the generosity of people around the world with an appreciation for his message of peace and humanitarian efforts.
